| Summary, etc. | Grammatologie und Ikonologie aufeinander beziehend, verfolgt die Schriftikonik das Ziel, Bildphänomene der Schrift aus kultur- und medienkomparativer Perspektive zu erforschen. Um Schriftikonik als transdisziplinäres Forschungsfeld in Geschichte und Gegenwart zu verorten, wird ein Bogen geschlagen von den Anfängen der Schriftbildlichkeitsreflexion innerhalb der abendländischen Grammatologie des 17. Jahrhunderts bei Wilkins, Leibniz und Humboldt bis zu aktuellen Ideo-/Piktographisierungstendenzen in der digitalen Hyperschriftkultur. Am Ende der historisch-vergleichenden Argumentation steht die These, dass die abendländische Grammatologie erst in der digitalen Kultur des Computerzeitalters zu sich kommt. Dort kann sich Schriftbildlichkeit, von gesprochener Sprache losgelöst, in ihrer Eigenlogik entfalten. |
