| Summary, etc. | Unsere Welt voller Untergänge und Katastrophen ist zugleich eine Welt voller Rettungen, Retter und Rettungsgeschichten. Täglich werden Rettungspakete geschnürt und Rettungsschirme gespannt, damit angesichts der drohenden Untergangsszenarien solches Rettungshandeln als alternativlos erscheine. Derartige Heilsversprechen lassen sich einerseits als Diskursinstrument zur Plausibilisierung und Invisibilisierung politisch kontingenten Handelns betrachten. Andererseits bilden sie ein zentrales und historisch tief eingewurzeltes Basisnarrativ unserer Kultur, welches die Beiträger von der Frühen Neuzeit bis in die Gegenwart in ihrer religiöstheologischen, biopolitischen, sozialgeschichtlichen, technischen und medialen Dimension erkunden. Gegenstand sind literarische Texte sowie bioethische, populäre, ästhetische und politisch-philosophische Diskurse vom 17. Jahrhundert bis zur Gegenwart. |
