520 _aThe China Development Journal is an international, peer-reviewed journal committed to advancing knowledge on economic development through a balanced integration of empirical research and policy analysis. The journal takes China’s development experience as a central case, with particular focus on processes of economic transformation, institutional evolution and policy innovation. At the same time, it addresses the wider challenges of development across diverse national and regional contexts. By situating China within global and comparative perspectives, the journal explores the broader theoretical and practical significance of development trajectories in China and beyond. The journal addresses a broad spectrum of development issues, encompassing the core areas of macroeconomic policy, including fiscal policy, monetary policy, industrial policy, and trade policy. It also places particular emphasis on key dimensions of high-quality development, such as innovation-driven growth, regional coordination, green transition, openness to the global economy, and inclusive development. These themes are explored both in terms of theoretical frameworks and empirical application. In addition to regular submissions, the journal curates special issues on cutting-edge topics. These issues are typically guest-edited by distinguished scholars with substantial international influence, including members of the editorial board as well as outstanding external experts. With a strong emphasis on analytical rigour and policy relevance, The China Development Journal provides a platform for interdisciplinary engagement with the dynamics of development in China and the wider global South.
