Subject(s): Additional physical formats: Printed version: : No titleOnline resources: Summary: Chromosome Research publishes original research articles, reviews, brief communications, case reports, methodology articles, debates, correspondences and comments from work based on all organisms and encourages submissions in the following areas including, but not limited, to: Chromosomes and linkage to diseases, including cancer cytogenomics Chromosomes and chromatin function in DNA damage/repair Comparative genomics in plants and animals elucidating fundamental mechanisms of genome and karyotype evolution Functional annotation of genomes (satellite DNA, centromere, telomeres, mobile elements, non-coding regions, transcription) Genomic and epigenomic mechanisms of chromosome dynamics (aneuploidy, chromatin remodeling, dosage compensation, imprinting, replication, sex determination) Mitosis and Meiosis Nuclear organization, nuclear envelope, and nucleocytoplasmic interactions The Editors of Chromosome Research will gladly consider papers that confirm, extend, or refute results published elsewhere. We welcome the submission of manuscripts describing new methods that constitute a significant technical advance. Descriptions and comparative analyses of karyotypes and genomes will only be considered if they have exceptionally far-reaching implications for new or better understanding of genome structure, function, or evolution (rather than mere phylogeny). We understand the importance of timely publication and offer an accelerated review process for original submissions and manuscripts previously assessed by other journals, provided prior reviewer and/or editorial comments are included. While we prioritize efficiency, all manuscripts undergo a thorough and rigorous peer review to ensure the highest scholarly standards Emeritus Editor and Consultant: J.S. (Pat) Heslop-Harrison, University of Leicester, United Kingdom.
