This book informs researchers, professionals, extension officers and students on production and management aspects of the cattle sector in the Mediterranean basin. The state of the art in cattle production was measured through a major survey in the early 90's. Following a paper based on the data collected through this survey, a number of papers present study cases of the cattle sector in the Mediterranean region. An important part of this information relates to the changing production systems, influences of new technology applications and the introduction of more specialized genetic material.
