We welcome the submission of manuscripts describing new methods that constitute a significant technical advance. Descriptions and comparative analyses of karyotypes and genomes will only be considered if they have exceptionally far-reaching implications for new or better understanding of genome structure, function, or evolution (rather than mere phylogeny). We understand the importance of timely publication and offer an accelerated review process for original submissions and manuscripts previously assessed by other journals, provided prior reviewer and/or editorial comments are included. While we prioritize efficiency, all manuscripts undergo a thorough and rigorous peer review to ensure the highest scholarly standards Emeritus Editor and Consultant: J.S.
