Administration and Policy in Mental Health and Mental Health Services Research is an international, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal advancing science, service, and policy related to mental health care. The journal aims to answer questions such as the following and more: How do we achieve an efficient, effective, and equitable model of care for diverse communities? How do we influence the adoption, implementation and sustained use of empirically supported mental health recommendations in routine care? How do we move knowledge from here to there most efficiently, at lowest cost, with greatest impact and widest reach? The journal upholds the highest standards of scientific excellence and primarily publishes rigorous original empirical research and welcomes quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods; experimental and quasi-experimental designs; examinations of large administrative databases; and registered meta-analyses and systematic reviews. Authors are encouraged to review published articles for fit before submissions and invited to contact the editor with recommendations for special issues. The journal welcomes submissions from around the globe that focus on diverse populations (e.g., regarding age, identities, socio-economic position, geography), mental health need and care (in specialty and non-specialty settings), and across the public health continuum (from prevention to intervention). Of particular interest are studies in the following areas: Levers of change at the macroeconomic, social, and public policy levels Socioeconomic, political, structural, systemic and social determinants of mental health equity Integrated, coordinated, collocated, and collaborative care models Organizational architecture, infrastructure, and social context Workforce enhancement, care extenders, training, task shifting and task sharing Intervention and policy implementation optimization; hybrid implementation-effectiveness trials Common elements, transdiagnostic care, measurement-based care and quality improvement Inner and outer context policies, facilitators and barriers to intervention implementation Academic-community-government partnerships to bridge research, practice and policy Inter-agency collaboration and scale-up Technology facilitated and remote care Mental health care costs and financing systems Knowledge aggregation, integration, transfer and action.
