Überdauern Objekte den Wechsel von Eigenschaften auf eine spezifisch zeitliche Weise oder als vierdimensionale, indem sie ›zeitliche Teile‹ haben? Die Relativitätstheorien Einsteins scheinen den 'Vierdimensionalismus' nahezulegen, also die Raumzeit als Block und materielle Objekte als ausgedehnte ›Würmer‹ in ihm. Gegen diese Auffassung wird eine präsentistische, die Gegenwart auszeichnende, Deutung der Raumzeit entwickelt. Dies geschieht zum einen durch eingehende Kritik des Block-Views und zum anderen durch einen aktualisierenden Blick auf Kants Zeit-Theorie. Ein im kantischen Sinne modifizierter Präsentismus, so die These, ist (am besten) in der Lage, unsere Zeit-Erfahrungen mit der Zeit-Physik zu versöhnen. Das Buch führt einleitend in die Sachgebiete analytische Metaphysik der Zeit, Physik der Zeit in den Relativitätstheorien sowie Kants kritischer Begriff von Wirklichkeit ein und ist sonach auch für Nicht-Spezialisten zugänglich. |
