| Summary, etc. | Die Schrift untersucht anhand eines Modellfalls gravierender Übel (existentielle Notlagen, von denen viele Personen betroffen sind), wer in welchem Ausmaß zur Übelbehebung verpflichtet ist. Es wird argumentiert, dass Individuen als Pflichtadressaten erhebliche Leistungen zu erbringen hätten. Dies gilt weitgehend unabhängig von einer spezifischen Moralkonzeption, soweit diese gewissen Adäquatheitsbedingungen genügt. Überforderungseinwände verschiedener Art können das Ausmaß der Verpflichtung nicht herabstufen. Allerdings entsteht, sofern Individuen als Pflichtadressaten angesehen werden, ein Koordinationsproblem: Das insgesamt beste Resultat wird unter Umständen verfehlt. Dies - und nicht etwa die hohe Belastung - rechtfertigt es, die Übelbehebung als gemeinsame Verpflichtung anzusehen. Da kollektive Entitäten keine eigenständigen Pflichtadressaten sind, kann eine gemeinsame Verpflichtung jedoch nur heißen, dass Personen qua Gruppenmitglieder angesprochen werden. Dennoch ergeben sich aus einer solchen Konzeption angesichts gravierender Übel anders geartete Pflichtinhalte - sowie bei geeigneten Bedingungen für ein gemeinsames Vorgehen auch eine Reduzierung des Pflichtausmaßes. |
