Summary, etc. Discover Earth Observation is a fully open access, peer-reviewed journal that supports multidisciplinary research and policy developments across all fields relevant to Earth observation and remote sensing. The journal aims to be a resource for researchers, policy makers and the general public for recent advances in Earth observation and remote sensing, and their uses in research development and society. As a fully open access journal, we ensure that our research is highly discoverable and instantly available globally to everyone. The journal particularly welcomes work that aims to address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, especially Sustainable Cities and Communities; Climate Action; and Life on Land. Topics Topics welcomed at Discover Earth Observation include but are not limited to the following: Remote sensing technologies AI and machine learning for geospatial data analysis Development of high-resolution sensors and platforms Geovisualization and spatial decision support systems Integration of aerial/drone data with satellite imagery Applications of Earth observation data and use of remote sensing technologies to study: Ecology, biodiversity and agriculture Conservation planning and protected area management Forest/vegetation health and biomass estimation GIS for precision farming, crop monitoring, soil analysis Habitat mapping and species distribution modelling Environmental monitoring and climate science Atmospheric monitoring with satellite data (e.g., greenhouse gases, air quality) Mapping and modelling surface water resources, sea temperature and algal blooms Monitoring land use change, deforestation, desertification, wildfire proliferation Tracking glacial retreat and sea-level rise Geological and geomorphological studies Disaster monitoring and risk assessment (e.g., volcanic activity, earthquake and landslide susceptibility) Geological mapping and structural analysis Mineral and resource exploration Soil erosion and sediment transport modelling Terrain and elevation modelling using LiDAR and radar Urban and land use planning Heat island effect analysis Land suitability and zoning analysis Smart city development using geospatial intelligence Urban sprawl and infrastructure mapping Content types This journal welcomes a variety of article types – please see our submission guidelines for details. The journal also publishes guest-edited Topical Collections of relevance to all aspects of Its scope. .
