| Summary, etc. | Le but de ce livre est d'étudier comment les temps verbaux ou «tiroirs» contribuent dans un texte à la construction d'un univers temporel réel ou fictif. Le premier chapitre présente deux façons d'étudier le temps: (i) la perspective reichenbachienne et ses antécédents et (ii) la répartition traditionnelle des tiroirs en temps absolus et temps relatifs et les développements récents de cette catégorisation. La confrontation de ces deux approches montrera qu'elles sont essentiellement onomasiologiques et qu'elles sont, malgré leur point de départ différent, dans une grande mesure compatibles. Le second chapitre s'intéresse aux théories de l'aspect et du mode d'action et de leur application à l'étude du couple passé simple/imparfait en français. La théorie de l'aspect sera confrontée à des approches concurrentes récentes qui sont fondées sur la linéarité du texte. Le troisième et dernier chapitre compare et évalue quatres théories (Hamburger, Benveniste, Weinrich et Vuillaume) qui étudient le rôle des tiroirs dans des textes et qui, ou bien accordent une valeur différente aux tiroirs selon le genre de texte où ils sont employés, ou bien fondent un classification textuelle sur leur répartition. |
