| Summary, etc. | Seit ihren Anfängen integriert die Oper als genuin plurimediale Kunstform auch die bildende Kunst. Felicia Rappe untersucht, wie sich bildende Künstler heute mit der Oper befassen und diskutiert Implikationen für eine Erfahrungsästhetik in der Gegenwartskunst. Rappe entwickelt ihren theoretischen Rahmen anhand zweier Aufführungen, in denen die herkömmlichen Hierarchien der beteiligten Künste ausgehebelt werden: einer Arbeit des Videokünstlers Bill Viola für Richard Wagners Tristan und Isolde und einer Rauminstallation Olafur Eliassons für Hans Werner Henzes Phaedra. Untersucht wird, inwiefern die visuelle Komponente sich nicht in der Funktion eines ›Bühnenbilds‹ erschöpft, das die Opernerzählung interpretiert, sondern Teil eines intermedialen Gefüges wird, das auf der Erfahrungsebene zusätzliche Bedeutungsdimensionen eröffnet. |
