| Summary, etc. | Die Hebdomas (1580) ist den Tagen der Schöpfung gewidmet und durchgehend in lyrischen Versmaßen als lateinische Oden gedichtet. Verfasst wurde sie von Ludwig Helmbold (1532–1598), einem protestantischen Liederdichter, und vertont vom Mühlhausener Komponisten Joachim a Burck (1546–1610). Gedacht sind die Lieder für den regelmäßigen Gebrauch an der Lateinschule: Zu jedem Tag der Woche gibt es, den acht Horen des Stundengebets folgend, je acht Oden. Nikolaus Thurn unternimmt den Versuch, sowohl der Musikwissenschaft wie der Latinistik das jeweils fremde Feld näher zu bringen. Die erste kritische Edition der Hebdomas leistet einen bedeutenden Beitrag zur Erforschung des (lutheranischen) Kirchen- und Schulliedes auf Latein, besonders aber der Rekonstruktion einer Schulkultur des 16. Jahrhunderts, wie sie in den orthodox-lutheranischen Gebieten üblich war. |
