The Journal of Religious Education is a refereed publication for the academic exploration of the task of religious education in contemporary society and in particular faith-based schools. The journal helps disseminate original writings and research in religious education and catechesis as it relates to the faith formation of children and young people, particularly in formal educational settings. Articles for publication on religious education in various contexts and on related areas, as well as book reviews are welcome. We strongly recommend that new authors are familiar with the range of articles published in recent issues and the research areas addressed: religious education curriculum and pedagogy religious education in parish-based communities original research or scholarly analysis focused on religious education or catechesis studies that relate directly to faith formation of children or young people articles examining the theory, practice, or pedagogy of religious education in contemporary society research on curriculum, policy, and teacher education in religious education research exploring spiritual development, moral formation, or identity formation articles examining challenges and opportunities in modern religious education (e.g., secularisation, pluralism, digital learning, interfaith contexts).
